Social Media had been a great tool for us. Using Social Media we can communicate, be on trend and Social Media also gives a lot of informations, about the things that is happening on the other parts of the world.
We also use Social Media to deliver or to give informations during calamities, and one of that is during Typhoon Yolanda that hit Tacloban, Samar, and Leyte. By using Social Media we are able to share to the people, that we are suffering hunger and destruction brought by Typhoon Yolanda.
The other countries who were part of ASEAN, European Union and APEC was also a big help to us in terms of financial survival.
Social Media played a huge role in disaster response during calamities in the Philippines.
1. Using Social Media we are able to post information about our missing loved one's, and keep everyone updated.
2. Through Social Media we can get information about where to give and receive relief goods and also the best way to get information needed like medical help.
3. Social Media are also often used by emergency managements organizations to coordinate and send notifications of weather alert, upcoming events and exercises.
The Traditional way of providing information in the past and Social Media are really different.
Social Media is immediate, while Traditional Media can be delayed. Traditional Media is final, while Social Media cam be changed because, you have the control to make updates. Social Media offers more control over the message than Traditional Media.
